What happens to your details when you get in touch about coaching. Written the same way the programmes are: plain, honest and no filler.
Who is responsible for your details
Professor Personal Training is Adam Gucwa's coaching business, based in York and working online. Adam is the data controller for everything described here, which means he decides what is collected and what happens to it. You can reach him on 07763 249793, by email at adamgucwa.pt@gmail.com, or on WhatsApp.
What the enquiry form collects, and why
The form at the bottom of the home page asks for your name, the best way to reach you (however you want to give it, a phone number or an email), your main training goal, and anything else you want to add.
It is used for one thing: so Adam can get back to you about coaching and work out whether he can help. Your details are not sold, not passed to anyone for marketing, and you will not be added to a mailing list.
The lawful basis is legitimate interests while you are enquiring, because replying to someone who has asked about coaching is the obvious thing to do with what they send. If you start training, it becomes performance of a contract with you.
Where it goes when you send it
The form is handled by Netlify, the company that hosts this website. They email the enquiry on to Adam and keep a copy of the submission in the site's account with them. His email runs on Gmail, so Google holds it as well. If you would rather not use the form, ring, email or WhatsApp instead.
Training information
Once you start coaching, Adam keeps the information needed to programme for you properly, such as your training history, injuries, measurements and how sessions are going. That is part of the coaching itself, and health information gets handled carefully and is never shared with anyone else.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not turn into coaching are kept for about 12 months and then deleted. Client records are kept for six years after the coaching ends, because that is how long tax and insurance records need to be held. Ask for your details to be deleted sooner and they will be, unless the law says otherwise.
Who else sees it
- Netlify, who host the site and handle the form. They also keep ordinary server logs, including your IP address, so the site stays up and secure.
- Google, because the email is on Gmail.
- Meta, if you choose to message on WhatsApp.
- SH Studios Digital Ltd, the web company that built this site and looks after it. They act only on Adam's instructions, as his processor, and may see form submissions while keeping the form working.
Nobody else.
Cookies and what the site stores
This website sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Visits are not counted, nothing follows you around, and there is no cookie banner to click through because there is nothing to ask you about.
The calorie tool on the home page works entirely inside your own browser. The numbers you type are never sent anywhere and are gone as soon as you close the page.
The one thing loaded from elsewhere is the typefaces, which come from Google Fonts. Google sees your IP address when they are fetched.
Your rights
You can ask to:
- see what is held about you and get a copy
- have anything wrong corrected
- have it deleted
- stop it being used, or limit what it is used for
Email adamgucwa.pt@gmail.com and it will be sorted, normally within a month, at no charge.
If you are not happy
Come to Adam first and he will try to put it right. If you are still not happy you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
